Milissa was born in Dubuque, Iowa on April 17, 1968. She is a 1990 graduate of Augustana College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a 1993 graduate of Drake University School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor. She is a member of the Scott County Bar Association, where she has served on Executive Council, the Rock Island County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
She devotes a substantial amount of her practice to representing individuals and small to medium-sized businesses in their general real estate and financing matters, general corporate and company matters, and estate planning and probate matters.
She has participated in a number of activities on behalf of local, civic and charitable organizations. Currently she serves as the Board Chairperson of the Bettendorf Family Museum of Arts and Science, on the Board of Directors of Quad Cities Golf Classic Charitable Foundation (John Deere Classic), and on the Board of Directors of the Nahant Marsh Education Center. She is very active in the Cody Elementary PTA, having served as Vice President and President, Chapter LM of P.E.O. and the Augustana College Planning Giving Council. She has provided instruction for numerous years on behalf of Junior Achievement.
Milissa and her husband, Bernard, also a shareholder in the firm have two children. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, golfing and running.
